Note: Light rain won’t deter us, but in case of inclement weather, call the village office for the event’s status.
The Hickory Ridge Watershed Advisory Committee, or WAC, is a volunteer-led effort of the Hickory Ridge Community Association. The mission of the WAC is to enhance watershed awareness and educate residents of Hickory Ridge Village on opportunities and concerns related to the local watersheds.
Biweekly, members of the Hickory Ridge Watershed Advisory Committee will go out walking to check on the Open Space paths and streets and pick up trash where needed. We will be happy to talk about stream conditions and invasive species and storm water issues as well. If you want to make a difference, this is one easy way to do it with just an hour or so of your time.
Our first planned date is Monday, September 23, 2019. We will meet at the Hawthorn Center at 9am. If you can join us, please register at tinyurl.com/WACevents so we know you’re coming.
If you are interested in joining us on a future walk, or if you’d like us to focus on a trouble spot in your neighborhood, please let us know! You can use the registration link above, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
