As part of its Aquatics Master Plan, Columbia Association is looking to replace baby pools with interactive water features at several outdoor pool locations. Clemens Crossing Pool is one of the locations suggested by Marty Oltmanns, Director of Aquatics. At the October 1, 2018 Board Meeting, Mr. Oltmanns gave a presentation showing the new and innovative water activities and features that are on the market today. He provided a layout of the water features that are going to be replacing the baby pool at Running Brook in Wilde Lake.
The Village Board was impressed and unanimously agreed that new and exciting water features would enhance the Clemens Crossing pool. The Board passed a motion to request funding from CA for the planning and construction costs for replacement of the baby pool with an interactive water feature and bathhouse renovations at Clemens Crossing Pool. Specific features for Clemens Crossing will be selected at a future Board Meeting.
The project would include both baby pool upgrades and bathhouse renovations at Clemens Crossing Pool. In an effort to move the project forward, the Board is considering utilizing the CA funds currently held for a future park on CA land adjacent to the Village Center. CA placed the park construction on hold during the Village Center Redevelopment and there is no projected time frame for completion. If the funding is reappropriated, the Village Board may request park funding from CA in the future.
